Nominations for the 2011 Wammies were just released by the Washington Area Music Association. Cartoon Johnny‘s album, The More the Merrier was nominated for two Wammie awards. Not only was it nominated for Best A Cappella Album, but it was also nominated for Album of the Year, recognizing it as one of the best albums in DC regardless of genre. What a great honor for an a cappella album, and what a great honor for Cartoon Johnny and the other artists that contributed to the album.

So, I actually picked it up a couple of months ago, but finally got to test it out with Voxpop’s recent project. My studio has a new baby…a Peluso 22 251 microphone from Peluso Microphone Lab. Peluso hand-assembles microphones that are inspired by some of the most sought-after vocal mics available. While my mic collection is fairly well-rounded, this new addition is by far the nicest piece in the puzzle. Want to see how it sounds on your group?
